Mr. President,

Sir, I worried when you became President the first time. On election night my buddy and I were on the phone surmising that you would land us in a terrible war. When it became apparent that you weren't going anywhere, I started to ignore you in the hope that you would go away. After 9/11, you were a consistent voice for the worst in the American psyche: angry, vindictive, cruel and always binary (that means absolutist). I alternated between protesting and, to conserve some energy for daily activities like applying to med school, ignoring you in the hope that you would go away. However, even while ignoring your warmongering, lying, Constitution-shredding self, there was a constant drain on me.
It was not until I read *The Bush Tragedy* by Jacob Weisberg that I could begin to wrap my brain around your motives and logic enough to begin the process of forgiveness. It was a great relief when I was able to move on from my anger, although I have still been amazed and sometimes angered at your continued acts of cruelty and inanity.
The shoe throwing incident in many ways summed up your presidency. You were quite agile in ducking those shoes and as many have pointed out, you have long experience in ducking.
Having ruined two countries, you have now set your legacy. My forgiveness does not extend to a desire for your acquittal in the courts: a judgment must be made for precedent's sake. At the same time, I do not wish to see you punished as I do not believe you can really comprehend what you have done. May God have mercy on your soul.
Sincerely,
Amy Miller
