Dear Mr Bush

Id like to say you hurt me or surprised me or shocked me in your policies, but in 2001, when you tried to open up Yellowstone for your oil drilling buddies, I knew you were the lying scum that you proved yourself to be.

There, now that that's out of the way...

The past 8 years, I have really grown up. Im 31 now and I lived the first part of my adult life under your presidency. In fact, I moved out of my parent's house when you were elected... I was driving up from Los Angeles and listing to NPR when Gore conceded defeat in 2000. I knew something was up with Florida, but I didnt care. I wasnt too much involved in politics to worry about what a president could do to me personally.

Things continued much along the lines Clinton drew, with a few differences early on. The first ones I remember (Im going from memory and not fact checking) was you wanting to open up Yellowstone to logging and drilling. Then you refused to re-sign the Kyoto protocol. Then 9/11 happened and you didnt really say anything. Then, you lashed out against Iraq for no reason except to "apparently" steal their oil. The "Mission Accomplished" speech and the staging of the destruction of Saddam's statue was ridiculous and obviously a farce.

Its not that I think you are maliciously evil, though, Its just that I think you are incompetent and you create a power vacuum at the top that is filled by the Republican agenda. You have done more for this country and partisan politics in a bad way than anyone before you. By not being strong, you have allowed yourself to become incredibly despised and derided. History will look back and not think you were the worst president ever, but they will see your total lack of leadership and that you were a puppet for an agenda; if I were you, I would be more ashamed of that than just making mistakes.

I must say, I didnt vote in 2000 because I didnt care that much, but after seeing what a terrible president can do to a country, I think you have caused me to see how much of a difference one person can make. In that sense, I guess I have to thank you. So thanks alot, for helping me see how bad things could be.
