Thoughts from Europe...
Hello Mr. Bush,
While the majority of people in Europe and many other places around the world had little sympathy for you right from the start (meaning your first election), about half the U.S. population voted for you in 2000 and confirmed your presidency (though maybe not in a fair election) in 2004. Most even remained loyal to your foreign policy before and during the Iraq War. Suddenly, people turned against you and suddenly people tried to ridicule you and your politics (which is in itself quite understandable). The sudden change in mood among your American citizens has left Europe gasping at the apparent naivety of many American people who have falsely accepted your politics for a long time. I understand it must be hard for a president to anticipate such a population's sentiments to your politics.
However, I am glad that - through Obama's election - reason has come to American politics at last although obviously Obama was elected for his nice rethoric rather than his political arguments.
Greetings from Germany and goodbye forever!

Not exactly true. 47% of Americans still voted for Bush this time.
